How to never miss a court deadline: a second check for every date

Most missed deadlines don't come from bad lawyers. They come from a notice that never made it from the inbox to the calendar.

Where deadlines slip

A court notice arrives by email between dozens of other messages. Someone means to add it to the calendar. Then the phone rings. The date never gets entered, and nobody notices until it is too late.

Missed deadlines are among the most common sources of malpractice claims, which is why every firm needs more than one line of defense.

What a deadline agent checks

  1. Reads every notice that arrives by email or through docket updates.
  2. Finds the dates: hearings, filing deadlines, responses.
  3. Compares them with the firm calendar. If a date is missing or doesn't match, it flags it.
  4. Prepares the calendar entry with reminders. A paralegal approves it with one tap.
  5. Reminds everyone a week before: the attorney, the paralegal and, when it makes sense, the client.
A second check, not the only checkThe agent never replaces your docketing process or your attorney's judgment. It checks the work, links every date to the original notice and asks before changing anything.

Why this matters for clients too

Clients notice when the firm is on top of their case. Pair deadline tracking with automatic client updates and your clients hear about their hearing before they think to ask.
